 About the Company
Swirve.com, Inc. was founded in May, 2000 as an integrated content portal -- a homepage on the web. Built by integrating content from our predecessor, Echelon Entertainment, partnering with internet leaders to provide even more content, and creating an easy to use navigational system, we hope Swirve.com can and will serve as a central source of entertainment on the web.
Our History
The site now known as Swirve.com began in December, 1996 under the name Solaria Games. Initially founded simply to provide the Earth: 2025 game, Solaria Games hit the web with explosive growth and soon was a leading provider of interactive gaming content.
Over time, new services outgrew the "Games" label and the site was renamed Solaria Interactive, adding new services such as Electronic Cards. Throughout 1997 & 1998, Solaria Interactive experienced steady growth and moved from a small unknown into a popular daily site for tens of thousands of users.
In January 1999, a new direction was needed to broaden our appeal. At this time, the Solaria Interactive site was re-launched under a new name, Echelon Entertainment. The following 18 months saw tremendous growth in both reach and diversity of services. By June 2000, Echelon ranked amongst the Top 100 sites on the internet by many measures.
July 2000 brought about a complete restructure of Echelon Entertainment into a new company and website, Swirve.com. Our goal today remains to extend this powerful name brand while diversifying our services to encompass all major forms of entertainment.
